No matter where you tend to go in the world, people suffer from hair loss. Some of these individuals are the celebrities we see in our favourite movies or TV programmes.
There are a number of female celebrities that suffer from a variety of female hair loss issues and are able to overcome it. While they may be some of the most beautiful actresses, they all have shared the challenges they had to overcome.
Dealing with any amount of hair loss can be overwhelming, and damaging to a person’s self-image. If we take a look at some of these well-known celebrities that not only have to deal with hair loss, but still remained positive and continued to pursue their work, not letting hair loss get the best of them.
The famous, Jennifer Aniston created the iconic haircut that she sported on her hit TV show Friends. It was even given a name called “The Rachel” and woman all over the planet copied that layered look. This same hairstyle also caused damage to Jennifer Aniston’s hair. The extensions the popular actress wore on set eventually took their toll.
She has said on several occasions that extensions could contribute to bald patches and stunt her hair growth.
For her to deal with the daily challenges of hair loss, Aniston relies on the strong foundation of trusted moral support. And just like her TV character, she has good friends that she can call upon when things get rough.
There is nobody on the planet that doesn’t know Oprah Winfrey. When she opened up about her hair loss, her fans were not surprised. She has had many hairstyle changes, and she doesn’t hide the lessons she learned from past mistakes, even though those mistakes were made by others.
How does Oprah deal with her hair loss? She has learned to face it with a sense of humour and always moving on to the next great style.
Former Hollyoaks starlet Stephanie has been on a rollercoaster since stepping into the Celebrity Big Brother house last year. While she eventually won second place, people were shocked when she very publicly cheated on her then boyfriend with fellow housemate Jeremy McConnell – now the father of her baby.
Unsurprisingly, the tension started to get to her, as Stephanie told OK magazine last year.
“My hair went really thin and I went in total shock which was really upsetting,” she said.
“Everyone always said one of my best features was my long dark hair that was all natural and here it was falling out.”
“If I touched it, it would just come out in my hands and I was told it was all the pressure I was under. I had a cry about it quite often because I didn't feel like myself. It makes you feel womanly in a sense.”
What we can take from these three celebrity females is that they did not allow their hair loss to bring them down. They managed to overcome gracefully and perhaps that is the lesson we all can learn from them.
